Late Night Troubles will be releasing their self-titled debut EP on Thursday the 14th of May. They recorded this group of songs at the end of last summer and since then we have been putting together a show to be proud of that they can’t wait to share it with you all!

The Hard Ground Album Launch / Thursday 7th May

The Hard Ground are an Irish based alt-pop band about to release their second album Triptych. Their unique sound blends together lush harmonies, rock riffs and a startling pop sensibility providing a multi-coloured base for Enright and Carey’s ‘gravel and glass’ dual vocals.

Having elected to release their second album over the course of 12months as a Triptych project, the bands full second album is due for release in April 2015.

Their debut album Broken Conversations was nominated in Sunday Times Top Ten Irish albums in 2012, and they have been consistently nationally playlisted and internationally critically lauded for both debut album and subsequent EP releases. They have built up a strong following, selling out shows in both Ireland and the UK throughout 2014.

Kaleidoscope / Songs That Fall On The Turn / 4th May

The Goethe-Institut and Kaleidoscope Night have joined forces to honour the pivotal contribution to classical music in Ireland of the great Aloys Fleischmann, with a unique presentation of German, Irish and UK performers.

A live performance of Fleischmann’s “The Poets’ Circuits”
by visiting German soprano, Janina Staub and Irish harpist, Clare McCague. The rarely-performed 1972 work is a setting of four Padraic Colum poems, “The Crane”, “Black Tassles”, “Caoine” and “Spring”.
The same duo will also perform a world premiere written specially for this event by Irish Berlin-based composer, Garrett Sholdice, written as an homage to Fleischmann, of whom Sholdice’s grandparents were contemporaries and
friends.
Alluna Ensemble (UK) will be performing excerpts of Arnold Schoenberg’s seminal “Pierrot Lunaire”, Op. 21. The infamous setting of poems from Otto Erich Hartleben’s German translation of Albert Giraud’s cycle of French poems of the same name, Schoenberg’s melodrama is eminent for the delivery of the text in the Sprechstimme (literally “spoken voice”) style.
Kaleidoscope Night favourites The Gregory Walkers make a welcome return to the Odessa stage with a German-inspired programme of baroque and renaissance treats and a few choice surprises we’re sure!

The Lounge Quintet (formally The Jazz Globetrotters) have been entertaining the public for over twenty years now. Originally formed in the early 1990’s, the band had a Sunday residency at The Globe Bar and played to thousands of people from all over the world over a twelve year period. Having matured somewhat, they’re back with an all new show, playing the best jazz from all over the world.
