Another applied way to legally make a million US dollars in one year from the scratch is to start an oil and gas servicing company. If you are able to secure a handful of servicing contract in the oil and gas industry, you are likely going to earn a million US dollars in one year. The truth is that the oil and gas industry is indeed a money spinning industry.
all your advice works. i know because i have followed those steps since my early to mid-20s when, as a self-employed freelance journalist, i opened what was then called a keough account. those were pre-cursors of today’s ira’s. i always socked the limit into those, and soon opened an ira, as well as a 401k and a roth when they became available. i also opened fidelity and later, vanguard, mutual fund accounts. i always saved more than i spent, probably at least half my pay, which was never higher than about $65k during all the years i worked in journalism. true, my friends always liked to joke that i was “cheap,” but who’s laughing now? i crossed the $1m line in late 04, quit full-time work at age 51 and do exactly as i please with myself today, which is mainly being a semi-pro musician, the career the i almost established when i was in college. mercifully, i don’t have to live off it today. my main advice is to avoid credit-card debt. i am always astonished by how much people carry. ive never carried any. my debts are always limited to mortgage and, at times, car loans. i could own fancier cars and houses, but i have never felt the need, unlike my cash rich, but investment-poor friends. i live off corporate junk bonds today, plus music and random freelancing. my goal is to get to about $1.5m, get 80 percennt out of today’s way too unstable stock market, and live off mostly fixed income investments. way down the road, ill add social security, and a pension from the 25-years-plus i worked in newspapers. it can be done. the millionaire-next-door exists all around us.
Rule No. 2: Pick a boring business. Everyone is always on the lookout for “the next big thing.” The next big thing is finding rare earth minerals on Mars. That’s HARD WORK. Don’t do it! Bryan picked a business that every merchant in the world needs and he also knew that it was an exploding business because of all the online stores that were opening up. You don’t have to come up with the new, new thing. Just do the old, old thing slightly better than everyone else. And when you are nimble and smaller than the behemoths that are stuck with bureaucracy, you can often offer better sales and better service, and higher touch to your customers. Customers will switch to you.
The best mentorships are the ones where you pay your mentor. Often, the more you pay the better, because you’ll take the relationship far more seriously. You won’t solely be taking in that relationship. You won’t purely be a consumer. Instead, you’ll be invested, and as such, you’ll listen more carefully. You’ll care more. You’ll be more thoughtful and engaged. There will be higher consequences for not succeeding.
Start today. Get yourself educated. Create a vehicle, or several vehicles, where you put at least 10% of your income. Eventually, your investment vehicle may even start producing more profits for you than your actual business.
Well, actually JT, very often a million is pretty cool. Not everyone is going to be a VC-funded $100 million hotshot. Sometimes, it’s nice to make a million dollars, be your own boss, and use that financial success to catapult to freedom.
The fact that people make at least a million US dollars from the scratch in a year does not mean that it comes easy; you would have to be equipped with the right skill sets and in some cases technical training with that. You will not only make a million US dollars from the scratch, but you will be able to re – invest in order to continue to earn steady income from your investment.
If you try to appeal to everyone, your message, marketing, and products will be terrible. You won’t be clear on your why, and neither will anyone else. Thus, you’ll be average like everyone else and your work won’t stand out.
But gearing up with the right technology alone isn’t the secret to building a scalable company from home. You’ve got to have the right mindset. Here are tips from three home-based entrepreneurs who’ve built businesses with annual sales above $1 million.
And that may sound simple, but it is often one of the greatest challenges that teams, divisions and companies face. What does success look like? If you were to set up a scoreboard to track success over time, what would it measure?
You start researching how you can improve on the fast-food delivery app, and you realize they’re charging each restaurant a 15% fee on every single order sent through the app. This then means every customer’s meal is more expensive than it needs to be.
– There are many ways to build credibility online. I mention how to in this episode but to name a few you can write a book about the topic you love, guest post on other sites, speak at trade shows, or write for magazines. Anything to build credibility to increase your personal brand and value perception.

Want to become a millionaire? Making it happen in the next five years doesn’t have to be a fantasy. That’s the view of Steve Siebold, 50, author of How Rich People Think. Siebold, a self-made millionaire who consults for corporate sales teams and gives speeches across the country, says that in fact, people over 50 have the advantage when it comes to getting rich. That’s right: 50 is the new 40.
They often share many of the same bad tendencies. They don’t listen. They micro-manage. They’re not trusting. They see employees only as pawns to help them accomplish their goals. They point fingers rather than owning their mistakes. They steal credit for the team’s accomplishments. They dress people down in front of their colleagues. The list goes on and on (sigh).
A seasoned property flipper looks for a home that’s in need of repair, or where the buyer is looking to make a quick sale. Either situation means you might be able to acquire that home for 10% – 25% off market value.
People frequently make a lousy choice on their very first business decision: which business area to enter. In fact, it is often given little consideration, a choice that people may drift into without consciously looking at the options.
My wife reads my site and often sends me links to stories and other ideas. One day she sent me a link to an article called 8 Ways to Make a Million bucks. The article chronicles 8 different millionaires and shares a brief story about how each of them reached millionaire status.
The path to becoming a millionaire becomes easier once you get the process started. It all starts at the beginning with small lifestyle changes. For example, making small lifestyle changes to reduce your fixed monthly expenses can go a long way toward helping you spend less than you earn. This in turn makes it easier to save a little money each month. Once you have a little cash saved, small emergencies are no longer emergencies and you are no longer treading water. This makes it easier to invest.
Those people who eventually become millionaires typically don’t get there through sheer luck or by making one life-changing investment. Rather, they work hard, live below their means, and start saving early on.
The typical small business owner does the opposite. Especially service providers. They usually have a small number of clients, who represent the majority of their income. If they lost even one, it would have a serious impact on their business. In some cases, it can put them out of business.
If you’re wondering how to make a million dollars in the stock market, then the answer is “slowly”, in the vast majority of cases. It’s highly unlikely you’re going to hit a home run and walk away with overnight millions.
Special note: Most brokers typically have minimum amounts for opening a Roth IRA, usually $3,000. Sometimes they’ll waive the minimums if you set up an automatic payment plan depositing, say, $100/month.
You’ve probably heard about authors who have hit it big on Kindle. John Locke, for example, sold a million Kindle ebooks in five months, and Mark Dawson earned $450,000 in 2014 from his self-published ebooks.
If you don’t want to take the time to build your own business systems, you can buy a franchise. When you buy a franchise, you’re buying into a proven operating system. The advantage of buying a franchise is that you can take the time you’d spend building your systems to focus on developing your team. And because banks like to make loans to businesses with good, proven systems, they’ll often give a loan to a franchise but not to a start-up.
Earn money, spend less than you earn, save, invest, repeat the process. Embrace the Millionaire Mindset. After that it’s just a matter of time. Even if it takes years or decades, the process really is that simple. Of course, it may not seem as easy as I laid it out here, but it really is. Remember, this is not an overnight get rich quick scheme. It takes time, planning, and a little luck along the way.
Twitter: Gray area. Twitter lists affiliate links under spam in their rules. However, I’ve seen it happen from time to time, mostly with some sort of disclaimer stating it’s an affiliate link. But then again, try convincing someone to make a purchase in 140 characters; not your best option.
6. Sell on eBay: Believe it or not, there are people who make a full-time income selling their wares on eBay. Whether you want to profit from your burgeoning collection of cookie jars or need an online storefront to sell your vintage clothing, eBay might be the solution for you. To learn more about how to sell on eBay, here is a link to their “getting started” page.
Million Dollar Business Secrets delivers the most essential principles you’d learn when earning an MBA. These are the strategies that the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the world have used to generate mind-boggling wealth via business … so they can enjoy time freedom, live life on their terms and support their favorite causes.
I think the ultimate way to become a millionaire is to EARN MORE and DESIRE LESS. Earning more increases your income i.e. (taking a second job, investing your money, buying assets that provide passive income, etc.) while desiring less lessens your spending (i.e. budgeting, frugality, etc.)
Network marketing often gets a bad rap. Because it’s a newer form of business system, many people look at it suspiciously and think of it as a scam. Initially, I felt this way too. But after dropping my prejudices and doing some research, I found many people who were sincerely and diligently building successful network-marketing businesses that made a positive impact on their financial futures and others’.
If anyone is looking to open a stock trading account, I highly recommend Robinhood as they offer free stock trading. I recommend them because this is the stock broker I use. Unlike traditional brokers, they do not charge commission on trades or require a minimum account balance.
“Look at the audience you’ve attracted. Even better, look closely at those who have already purchased from you. If you already have a list of 5,000 or more, instead of focusing on adding to your email list or growing your social media audience, focus on creating new content for the people you’ve already attracted. What new product or program do they need next? Create for them and you will be building a product suite. I have a product suite of 3 core programs and each program builds into the next. It allows me to continue to support the audience I’ve already attracted while also growing my revenue.” – Amy Porterfield
I listened to this, and watched the video interview in regards to your story. Really liked it man. My story is somewhat similar. As a junior I was one of the highest ranked tennis players in Hawaii, and was on my way to a D1 scholarship, and then maybe some pros… but I decided to take a year off to train… and in that year, totally burned myself out by overtraining and drinking too much caffeine.
– You don’t have to be the best at marketing, you just need to know enough to get the job done. Once you do, sales will be your focus. I love using webinars to sell because it’s a great way to build your audience as well. Start with an online bootcamp because you can start selling without having a product (this is key!).
Education truly is a “silver bullet” for all that ails you. A college degree is called the Million Dollar Gift as it typically provides one more than a million dollars ($1.2 million on average) in additional lifetime income (of course, it should be a degree in something that’s marketable). Did you know many top “for-profit” schools (Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc.) provide free tuition for those from families making less than $60-$75,000? Did you know a minority of students are accepted into college just on grades (good thing for me)? And, did you know there’s about $16 billion in aid and that most of it is not merit based? Finally, it is said the “rich” usually plan for three generations while the “poor” only plan for the weekend. Good advice from Rich Dad Poor Dad is to build a financial plan (with a professional planner) and then do it again. A financial plan should not be about getting rich but to primarily just help identify what’s important to you. Plus, it’s difficult to improve what you don’t track.
As you would expect, the stories are as diverse as the people they highlight. Several people started their own business, one man made his millions in real estate, a firefighter cashed in his pension, and another made his millions working an $11 an hour job (and making wise money decisions along the way).
Rule No. 5: Blogging is not about money. Blogging is about trust. You don’t sell ads on your blog (rarely), you don’t get the big book deal (rarely), but you do build trust and this leads to opportunities. In Bryan’s case it led to more inflow, rather than him going door to door, and it also led to his biggest early opportunity. My own blog has made me a total of zero cents but has created millions in opportunities for me.
So let’s say money is on your list. And let’s say, like millions of other people, that you’d like to be a millionaire. What kinds of things should you do to increase your chances of joining the millionaire’s club?
